Welcome to Greench Farm!

This is a The Sims 3 legacy, following the household at Greench Farm, which is part of a still primitive, but growing, community on Maccaroni Island. Enjoy the journey!

The Greench Farm story started as a SimBasic spin-off on local Week 14 Day 1.

All my stories (and more) are now gathered on my new blog, Simmerville's Sims.

Bonny's birthday

[Year count 220]  From now on the updates will be a tad more focused on everyday matters. Still some community news from the island, but also smaller snippets from a farmer family's life.

Richelle (Y.) and Godrian Greench run Greench Farm at Maccaroni Island (correctly named Magna Island). They are both 3rd generation after the 4 settler couples (the SimBasic story). Richelle descends from Yvonne & Yespar Yea-Low and Rita & Roger Redward. Godrian descends from Greta & Gabriel Greench and Bianca & Bolan Blumington. You get the point - Richelle and Godrian's 2 daughters, Bonny and Dorine, descend from all 4 settler couples! So - it will be nteresting to see if they look like any of those first settlers.

This morning Godrian and Richelle had a little quarrel.

Yes, they are talking about their oldest daughter Bonny's birthday! It's today, and a party is coming up.

Godrian served breakfast, and they calmed down a bit. They are about to rearrange the plants they grow here at Greench Farm. Also, Richelle is trying to sell their produce to Town of Galucca. They need to focus more on just one kind, and some time ago they decided on pumpkins, but they are rather big and bring in little money.

Richelle will be going to Galucca in a short while. Godrian carries the blue alien DNA, descending from the Blumington couple, so he is not allowed to leave Maccaroni Island. Richelle is, and she holds a growing secret; she is looking forward to see Dr. Mahogany again. He returned to Galucca a few years ago, but gave his address to Richelle.

She spends some hours here in the office daily, planning the pumpkin export. Right there on the table is the Gardener trophy that Godrian's dad, Archie Greench, received before he died.

Oh, those farming traditions.

Out there on the fields was Godrian alone. He had to tend the plants before baking a cake for the party. Then, suddenly he aged, too! Only from young adult to adult, nothing to celebrate, really. Just a bit weird seeing him out there behind the farm house, cheering al alone... :)

Well, there's still time to bake...

Guests started to arrive, and Richelle welcomed them with Bonny sitting on her arm. The woman in blue is Godrian's twin sister, Boletta. The dark haired one wearing a short patterned dress is another sister of Godrian, Graica. Boletta is married to Richelle's brother and reside the western region. Graica is married to another of Richelle's brothers, Reynar, and they reside the Eastern region.

The elderly man is Richelle's dad, Alex Yea-Low.

More relatives arrived, and the party was on.

The elderly woman wearing a hat is Richelle's mom, Dorothy R. Yea-Low. She is a tad insane, but can blame it on her age.

Reynar obviously forgot to bring something. Graica had found some advertisement in a magazine, and wanted o show it to her brother, Godrian. It was about cows. Real cows that would give milk, might be a good asset to a farm.

Bonny grew up, and it will be interesting seeing her live develop from here. From the look on her face it's easy to see that she is a bit scared to sit on an adult chair for the very first time! :)

Then everything went downhill. Yvilla R. River, daughter of the Redwards and married to Godrian's brother who couldn't attend, well, all of a sudden Yvilla ripped her outerwear off, and stood there wearing her swimsuit. Well...

Naturally they all reacted. Yvilla R. River is Bonny's aunt (like half the island population are aunts or uncles).

I think Yvilla is insane. She descends from Yvonne Yea-Low, who also was a little strange at times, and the freaking Agnes Y. J. Hawk is Yvilla's aunt. Much insanity in that family, LOL.

A little later, the guests left. The farmhouse is too small for parties. It was bedtime for Bonny.

Hm... someone hunting for eggs? Or chickens even?

Time to move on!

So, the wait was very long, and you might know I was busy creating Town of Galucca. You can follow that progress on the Galucca blog :)

But now it's time to wake up the good people at Greench Farm again! :) And the other islanders are there in the background, doing their things, too! I had to reorganize my way of taking notes, because keeping an eye on everyone, as well as all households of Galucca, would become too much without some better plan!

Time will also go more slowly than before. Time system needs to be the same in all my worlds, because people do travel back and for. On Greench Farm they will no longer count weeks and days, but they will count years like they do in Galucca. And there will be room for several updates every year. I'll simply take the time I need to follow their everyday doings.

New update coming soon! :)

Wanna follow Town of Galucca through 200 years?

Hi all! Or - hello someone out there! :) I'm sorry for the long break, and in case you missed the main reason for this, here's a quick info.

You might have noticed that the SimBasic and the Greench Farm stories both refer to Town of Galucca. That's where those uniform marine guys came from, and where only the non alien affected locals are allowed to go. Godrian Greench is not allowed to leave Maccaroni Island, but his wife is planning to go with the next organised trip.

Well, because of all those references made to the distant town, I decided a year ago to actually create Town of Galucca! I started with creating the world in CAW (the amazing Create A World tool), then moving in a Count and his Countess with 3 children, and a few crafters following them - 200 years ago. Since, following the generations through 200 years, up to when those marine guys discover Maccaroni Island. It's a phew job, it's taken me so much time I have no idea. But after a year it's nearly done.

I decided to tell the story in a new blog, and you might be interested to check it out. It's about a town developing from zero to City, and you'll get to know many of the families living there. The Galucca story can be enjoyed even if you never read the Greench Farm or SimBasic blogs.

Town of Galucca

PS: And, there will soon be more frequent updates here on the Greench Farm family - stay tuned!

Week 16 Day 7 : Scientists' discovery

First off, sorry for not posting the announced update back in August. It took me a while to upgrade computer from my old 32 bits system, and then there was even some vacation - poor me :)

Anyways, game runs a lot better, and all building issues were also solved. I'm fit for some more reports from Maccaroni Island!

It's a quiet morning at Greench Farm. In case you missed the previous updates, Godrian & Richelle Greench decided to focus on growing pumpkins for export, and they also got some chickens.

They feel a bit stuck though, having less funds than desired, stops them from equip their rather big farmhouse. Upstairs finally got wallpapers and stuff, but the house still have lots of items that were there ever since the house was built by Godrian's grandparents, Greta and Gabriel Greench.

Godrian doesn't really care much for interior, he is more occupied with the barn and the outdoors. But Richelle comes from a little more snobby family, and she wants a better home.

Richelle and Godrian have 2 girls, Bonny and Dorina. It seems like they both inherited Richelle's normal skin, and not Godrian's green skin. Will the population of Maccaroni normalize this soon?

Richelle will soon visit Town of Galucca, that's the town that sent out the ship that found this little island community, founded by 4 stranded couples 3 generations ago.

The plan is to reorganize the field. In the past they grew 6-8 plants of every kind, but lately Godrian's aunt claimed the right to grow fruits and berries, leaving the vegetables to Greench Farm. Godrian's uncle LaShawn G. Gladiston, already specialized on grapes since long, and also Godrian's aunt, Carie Peel, grows grapes although that family focuses more on their business, Peel Café, of course.

Then Godrian's phone rang, and his friend, the young scientist Pahomas Tulitto was on.

Pahomas and his dad, scientist Theo Tulitto, have examined the volcanic mountains of Maccaroni Island ever since they came to the island. Actually, the locals learned that the island's real name is Magna Isand. A science lab was built long ago, and now the household had moved their house from the tiny lots up at Military Walk, to a much better location they bought from locals at 19 Rounder Lane. This is closer to the science facility, and much more spacious, too.

Richelle and Godrian showed up at 6 PM precisely.

Linda and Pahomas have a son, Hugo, and Linda is pregnant with their next kid.

Richelle brought only Bonny, who will start school tomorrow or the day after, while Godrian's aunt Carie was babysitting Dorine.

Then everything took an unexpected twist. Pahomas and Linda rushed inside to find old Theo dieing! That was not at all the plan, he is the one who was supposed to reveal some discovery!

Richelle is a coward, she fainted when Grim Reaper opened the door. Not once, but twice :) This doesn't really look like a nice housewarming visit...

Finally, dinner was served, Hugo and Bonny played outside, and the adults got seated in the kitchen. They plan to expand the house a little now that the lot is bigger, but one thing at the time. They were all silently eating, after all old Theo's urn was still in the house.

Hm, Pahomas didn't know who to ask. He will currently be the only scientist on the island, but there are a few inventors living in the eastern region, and maybe some other scientist can move to the island to join this work?

Need to prove the antrance? But wasn't that what old Theo had found, some entrance? Both Richelle and Godrian were confused, but Godrian agreed to assist Pahomas for a couple days. Not tomorrow, because that's when a new council meeting is up. But the day after.

They returned to the farm, Richelle played a bit with Bonny before they all went to bed.

So, we're on again! Hoping you are still around! :)
